For as long as you can remember, you’ve felt like you need to cut off parts of yourself and your experience of gender in order to be loved.  But recently, the questions won’t go away, and the price of disconnecting from yourself is just too high.  Though you are scared, you’re beginning to imagine a life that wouldn’t require that from you.  What if you could fully express yourself,  accept and celebrate your gender, and still be connected and loved?

Starting gender therapy is often an initial act of self-love.  In the therapy hour, you can have warm, curious, and private space to be brave, a little bit at a time. Courage in gender therapy often gradually leads to courage in your life and relationships outside of therapy.  The scary things become less scary when we have company and support.

Hi, I’m Noelle


I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, sex therapist, and PhD student in human sexuality. I specialize in working with gender, sexuality, and relationships.  Together in gender therapy, I’ll help you answer some questions about your gender, connect more deeply with your body, and explore whether social or medical transition might feel right for you.

My Approach

Gender exploration is about engaging bravely with hard questions, learning to listen more deeply to yourself and your body, and trying things.  I use warmth, curiosity, and humor to create an environment where it feels safe to say unspoken things out loud.  We will discover together what your needs and desires are related to your gender: what are the things you want, long to say yes to, or ask for?  We will also help you get more grounded in your boundaries: what are the things you don’t want, that don’t fit, that you want to say no to?  We will help you feel more comfortable in your own skin, and more comfortable in your life and relationships.  

How it works

Step 1

Click “Get Started” and choose a time that works for you for an initial 20-min video consultation

Step 2

During our initial consultation, notice whether you feel comfortable with me, and if who I am and what I offer feels right to you

Step 3

If we are a good fit, we will find a time for a regular 50-min weekly session, and choose a start date for our intake appointment.  Our sessions will continue at the same time each week until you’ve gotten what you need and are ready to stop
